This coffee originates from Ethiopia — Guji, Megadu, Betta Buna.

Guji is a region with deep cultural traditions, so from the start we understood that work here is possible only through close partnership with local community leaders. Our 50-hectare holding is part of a 220-hectare estate owned by respected Guji leaders Gash Duba and Ato Saffay. They are highly regarded decision-makers with excellent coffee-growing knowledge, and collaborating with them has been essential to our success.

Guji is mountainous and forested, with fertile soils and outstanding potential for top-quality coffee. But the region’s reputation rests not only on natural conditions — quality coffee farming here is part of the culture. Over the past 20 years the focus on quality has become especially pronounced: farmers carefully tend the soil and plants, and harvest only fully ripe cherries.

The Megadu farm sits in beautiful forested land, and our work began as a pilot project to ensure the partnership would benefit both us and local communities. It has grown into a successful long-term collaboration that has exceeded expectations in both quality and impact.

Guji is particularly renowned for exceptional naturally processed coffees. Working together with local growers, we combine their farming experience with our expertise in different processing methods — from natural and washed to experimental approaches such as anaerobic fermentation. The result is a collaboratively produced, high-value specialty coffee that benefits both producers and final consumers.
